Norton mede guesthouse (www. Nortonmede. Com ) is a large single storey building situated on the heritage coast road 10 miles (16km) from land's end and 11 miles (18km) from st ives in the old mining village of pendeen in west cornwall. In 1926 there occurred a drastic fall in the price of tin. Geevor tin mine at pendeen stepped down production and rather than lose a skilled work force they built norton mede. Originally called just "the bungalow" it was the mine captain's (manager's) residence and had a staff of servants until the 1950's. The building faces the western approaches and has commanding sea views. There are large pleasant gardens which you are invited to enjoy. Our double bedrooms have showers and all our bedrooms have washbasins, central heating, tea/coffee making facilities, colour tv linked with video and satellite, etc. E-mail facilities are available. Computer tuition is also available for those rare rainy days.
